The MPI New Jersey Chapter (MPI-NJ) hosted its 26th Annual Golf Outing—an event deeply rooted in tradition and known as their largest fundraising and networking initiative of the year. As a long-standing event, the outing plays a vital role in the chapter’s engagement strategy, but MPI-NJ was determined to modernize the experience for both planners and participants.
MPI-NJ credited mosaic apps™ as a major contributor to their success in winning the RISE Award. Heather, the chapter administrator, acknowledged that embracing digital tools—particularly improved communication through the app—helped them stand out.
“Prior to implementing Mosaic Apps, MPI-NJ faced significant challenges in delivering a seamless digital experience to its members. Each event required its own standalone mobile app, forcing members to download a new platform every time they attended an event.”
Breathing New Life into a 26-Year Legacy
After decades of successful golf outings, MPI-NJ faced a familiar challenge: how to keep the experience fresh, effective, and aligned with modern expectations. Heather, the chapter president, shared the concerns:
“In its 26th year, it’s hard to kind of keep things innovative and new and fresh, right? We’re always trying to say, how can we improve this?” – Heather Kresge
Introducing mosaic apps™
Heather and her team were introduced to mosaic apps™ during the early planning stages. They decided to use the app for the golf outing and quickly saw its impact:
“One of the areas we really thought based on the previous year’s event was to improve communication… and that’s kind of where we found the app. There were a lot of improvements that were able to be made through the communication aspect.”
Greater Clarity, Greater Impact
MPI-NJ’s use of mosaic apps™ had ripple effects beyond expectations:
It was really nice that I could just say, ‘Check the app.’ It’s right there. Let me show you how to use it.”
“We were able to send out last-minute changes or reminders instantly. Push notifications made it so much easier to keep everyone updated on the spot.

“We got to include the agenda, speaker bios, breakout rooms, mealtimes, maps of the facility, sponsor information… There’s so much info right at people’s fingertips where normally you’re having to print or email it.”
Heather explained how the mosaic apps changed the whole perspective:
“You’re still going to have participants who want a printed agenda, but the younger generations are gearing toward apps and digital content. As event professionals, we have to grow with that.”
“Just do it. Don’t be scared. Start small—set it up for one event, and grow with it. That’s what we did.”
“Yes, short-term it’s one more thing to learn. But long-term, it makes meetings and events much more efficient.”
MPI-NJ’s embrace of digital tools through mosaic apps™ didn’t just improve logistics—it redefined the event experience for planners and participants alike.
